Dichloromethane, chemical formula CH2Cl2, also known as dichlorothane, methyl chloroform, referred to as DCM, is a colorless organic compound with a pungent odor similar to ether. The compound is made by replacing two hydrogen atoms in methane (CH4) with chlorine atoms.
