Use
Benzoyl chloride is a very important acylation reagent. In the field of drug synthesis, it can react with compounds containing active hydrogen such as amino and hydroxyl groups.
In fragrance synthesis, benzoyl chloride can react with alcohols to form esters.
In the dye industry, benzoyl chloride can be used to synthesize certain dye intermediates containing benzoyl groups.
Benzoyl chloride can be used as a raw material to synthesize a variety of pesticides. It can react with some compounds containing active groups to produce pesticide components with insecticidal and bactericidal activities.
