Hydrogenated Bisphenol A (HBPA), chemically named 4,4' -dihydroxy dicyclohexylmethane, is hydrogenated by Bisphenol A (BPA).
Hydrogenated bisphenol A is a white crystalline powder with low volatility. Its melting point is relatively high, generally around 185-190 ° C, which makes it a solid state at room temperature. In terms of solubility, its solubility in organic solvents varies depending on the polarity of the solvent. Due to the presence of hydroxyl functional groups, hydrogenated bisphenol A has the typical chemical properties of alcohol compounds. It can be esterified with acid to form ester compounds.

Synthesis method:
Hydrogenation reaction: The main synthesis method is the hydrogenation reaction of bisphenol A. Metal catalysts, such as nickel (Ni), palladium (Pd), or platinum (Pt), are commonly used. The reaction is carried out in a hydrogen atmosphere, the reaction temperature is generally between 100-200 ºC, and the pressure is about 1-10MPa. The process of hydrogenation reaction is that bisphenol A molecules are adsorbed on the surface of the catalyst, hydrogen molecules are dissociated into hydrogen atoms, and hydrogen atoms are gradually added to the benzene ring of bisphenol A molecules, and the benzene ring is reduced to cyclohexane ring, and finally hydrogenated bisphenol A is generated.
Process optimization: In industrial production, in order to improve the reaction efficiency and product quality, the reaction conditions need to be optimized. For example, choosing the right solvent can increase the dispersion and reaction rate of the reactants. At the same time, the activity and stability of the catalyst were studied, and the service life of the catalyst was extended and the production cost was reduced by modifying the catalyst or adding auxiliaries.

Application field:
