C5 Modified C9 Resins are aliphatic modified aromatic resins obtained from copolymerizingof C5 and C9 fraction that derived from the by-product of thermal cracking of naphtha.They are granular solids with the color of pale yellow.

Both advantages: a combination of C5 petroleum resin and C9 petroleum resin some excellent characteristics. For example, it may have both the good viscosity and flexibility of C5 petroleum resin, and a certain hardness and water resistance of C9 petroleum resin.
Improved iodine value: Higher iodine value than pure C9 petroleum resin, which means that its molecular structure may contain more unsaturated bonds, and thus show higher activity in some chemical reactions and applications.
Enhanced solubility: Solubility is improved, it can be better dissolved in a variety of organic solvents, and it has good compatibility with polar or non-polar polymers, so that it can be more evenly dispersed and function in different types of formulations.

Application field
Hot melt adhesives: hot melt adhesives based on EVA, such as woodworking adhesives, packaging adhesives, book binding adhesives, etc. C5 modified C9 petroleum resin can improve the viscosity, initial adhesive energy and heat resistance of hot melt adhesives, so that it can maintain good performance in rapid bonding and long-term use.
Pressure-sensitive adhesive: It can adjust the initial viscosity, holding viscosity and peeling strength of the pressure-sensitive adhesive, so that the pressure-sensitive adhesive products have better adhesive effect and stability.
