Production method: methylcyclopentadiene exists in coal tar and petroleum pyrolysis tar at high temperature. First, crude methylcyclopentadiene is separated from these raw materials, and then the crude methylcyclopentadiene is dimerized. Finally, benzene and other impurities are separated by decompression rectification to obtain dimethylcyclopentadiene.
