Production method:

However, because phosgene is highly toxic and causes serious pollution to the environment, it has been banned in developed countries.
Transesterification: The transesterification reaction of diethyl carbonate or dimethyl carbonate and ethylene glycol under the action of catalyst, and then the reactant is distilled under reduced pressure to obtain vinyl carbonate.
Ethylene oxide and carbon dioxide addition method: ethylene oxide and carbon dioxide addition reaction to prepare vinyl carbonate is a reaction of exothermic, volume reduction, low temperature, high pressure conditions are conducive to the reaction, while choosing the right catalyst is the key.
Urea alcoholysis: under the catalysis of solid catalysts (such as dry basic zinc carbonate, zinc oxide and compound catalysts, etc.), ethylene carbonate is synthesized from urea and ethylene glycol. The reaction process is simple, the catalyst is easy to separate, and has high selectivity and conversion rate, and few side reactions.
