Product Description

Dicyclopentadiene:An organic compound having both internal and external isomers, usually a colorless transparent or yellowish liquid. Pure dicyclopentadiene may solidify into a white crystalline solid at low temperatures. Has a certain pungent smell, insoluble in water, soluble in alcohol, ether and carbon tetrachloride. It is relatively stable at room temperature and pressure, but under high temperature, light, oxygen or catalyst conditions, polymerization is easy to occur, resulting in dimer, trimer and other polymers, and decomposition reactions may also occur, resulting in cyclopentadiene and other products.

 

 

USE
Synthetic resin field
Unsaturated polyester resin: dicyclopentadiene is one of the important raw materials for the production of unsaturated polyester resin. In the production process, it can be copolymerized with other monomers such as maleic anhydride, ethylene glycol, etc., to form an unsaturated polyester resin with good performance. This resin has excellent mechanical properties, chemical corrosion resistance and electrical properties, and is widely used in the manufacture of FRP products, such as auto parts, ship shells, building materials and so on.
Epoxy resins: dicyclopentadiene can be introduced into the structure of epoxy resins through a number of chemical reactions, thereby improving the properties of epoxy resins.
Polydicyclopentadiene: Polydicyclopentadiene can be prepared from dicyclopentadiene by ring opening translocation polymerization. Polybicyclopentadiene has the advantages of high strength, high rigidity, good heat resistance and chemical resistance, and can be used to manufacture high-performance engineering plastic parts, such as gears, bearings, seals, etc.
